SERVISPLICE
Standard Normal Coupler
The workhorse of mechanical rebar splicing

About SERVISPLICE
SERVISPLICE is Bosa's flagship Type 1 mechanical coupler, engineered for standard non-ductility splicing applications under HK CoP 2013 Cl. 3.2.8.3. The coupler uses fully automated CNC-rolled parallel threads to deliver a simple, effective and high-performance connection with zero material wastage — 100% of the rebar length is used. Each coupler is manufactured from SGS-tested high-tensile steel in our ISO 9001:2015 certified Taiwan facility, with every batch HOKLAS-accredited tested in Hong Kong. As the most cost-effective option in the Bosa range, SERVISPLICE is suitable for both static and seismic conditions and has been proven across over 1,000 projects in Hong Kong.

Where to Use SERVISPLICE
Standard Column & Wall Splicing
Primary application for vertical rebar continuity in columns, walls, and piers where Type 1 non-ductility classification is acceptable per CoP 2013.
Transfer Structures
Transfer beams and plates requiring high-performance mechanical connections. SERVISPLICE provides a cost-effective Type 1 solution for transfer structures.
Foundation & Pile Cap Connections
Large-diameter bar splicing in foundations, pile caps, and raft slabs where access permits standard threading.
Transition Splicing
Connecting different bar diameters (e.g., Ø32 to Ø40) using transition couplers within the SERVISPLICE range.
Installation Procedure
Bar Preparation
Cut rebar square using a rebar cutter. Ensure the bar end is clean, free of rust scale, and perpendicular to the bar axis.
Thread Rolling
Roll parallel threads onto the bar end using a Bosa CNC thread-rolling machine. Process takes approximately 30 seconds per bar end.
Go/No-Go Gauge Check
Verify thread quality using the Bosa Go/No-Go gauge. The Go end must pass fully; the No-Go end must not engage beyond 2 turns.
Coupler Assembly
Thread the coupler onto the first bar until the bar end is flush with the centre mark. Thread the second bar from the opposite end until tight.
Torque Verification
Apply the specified torque using a calibrated torque wrench. Mark the coupler and bars with a witness line for visual inspection.
